"Never since have I been without this consciousness of the Creator speaking to me through flowers, rocks, animals, plants and all other aspects of His creation." ~ George Washington Carver As we approach Black History Month, never have these words by the great George Washington Carver rang so true for us! His words express our vision for our beloved land and the legacy that we would love to leave and share. We thank him for his vision and his shoulders that we now stand upon!
Dedicated to Science and the Bible
Carver is best known for discovering hundreds of uses for the peanut. He is also credited with more that 500 agricultural inventions. For thirty years, he taught a Sunday evening Bible class, which was well attended by Tuskegee students. He believed the Bible was the key to his success. A favorite verse was, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Prov. 3:6). He was dedicated to helping African American farmers and believed that science, exploring the mysteries of God's universe, was the best way to do that. His focus on sustainable farming helped revolutionize American agriculture. (source: Museum of the Bible-Washington DC)
